Dr. Richard Turner grew up in San Francisco, CA where he attended and graduated from Plytechnic Hich School.
After having served in the Navy in Viet Nam, Dr. Turner's undergraduate studies took him to Santa Rosa Junior College where he graduated with an AA degree, later transferring to California State University, Chico where he recieved his B.A. degree in Business and started teaching at analy High School in Sebastopol, CA.
After two years of teaching and seeing how chiropractic care had helped one of his closest friends who had suffered with chronic low back pain for years, he decided to change life directions and moved south to Los Angeles where he attended and later graduated with honors from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1976. Dr. Turner began his practice in Chico, CA in 1977.
Dr. Turner practiced in Chico until 1984 when he moved to Maui, Hawaii and founded the Kahalui Chiropractic Clinic. Dr. Turner practiced on Maui for several years before moving back to Chico to help take care of a gravely ill family member. He has continued to practice in Chico since the late 80's, having founded Turner Chiropractic Clinic. For 10 years Dr. Turner commuted once a month back to Hawaii where, in addition to his practice in Chico, performed independent medical and disability evaluations for the State of Hawaii. Dr. Turner has remaind a practicing chiropractor for over 30 years. Dr. Turner is married to his wife Joyce who is a Real Estate Agent for Century 21.
Dr. Turner is a: Diplomate of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, a Former Professor at Cleveland Chiropractic College, an International Chiropractic Association of California Disability Evaluator, a California State Appointed Qualified Medical Examiner, a Member of the Sacro-Occipital Research Society, and former President of the Chico Breakfast Lions Club.
